Hello all

While I am preparing for the test I found 3 - confusing questions with 2 different answers in several well known websites like tiptop, Richmond library , Toronto library .... etc

1- Which legal document recognizes the cultural diversity of Canadians?

Some answers are Multicultural ACT , and some answer Canadian Charter and freedom . ( which answer is correct )

2- from where the prime minster select the cabinet ?

Some websites answers MP's and some answer (people) ..... the book says most of them are MP'S but didn't mention all of them , so the answer well be what?
MP'S OR PEOPLE ?

3- how long Hudson bay controlled the north ?

some answers are 300 and some 200 years , the book didn't mention it directly ? so which one is the best answer .

pls if someone not sure pls don't answer

According to The Bay themselves, see https://www2.hbc.com/hbc/history/ it was 1670 to 1869 so around 200 years.

A cabinet minister does not necessarily have to be an MP so the correct answer would be persons and not MP.

It's 'A' as per Discover Canada

"Canada’s legal system is based on a heritage that includes the rule of law, freedom under the law, democratic principles and due process."

But A says: "all of the above" and there is nothing above A. If it was "all of the below" I would agree with you. Or the order in which the answers are posted is not correct, A should be at the bottom.

Apnatoronto website also lists 'rule of law' as the answer.

While these websites are certainly helpful, they do confuse you to some extent. I had the same doubts as the OP. Hopefully, the actual test will be straight forward.

It is a trick question.. read it properly: What part....? All three are a part, so you can pick b, c and d and it is correct.

93: For how long did the Hudson Bay Company control the northern lands?

Discover Canada Page 19, on top of the pictures: "Fort Garry, 1863: the flag of the Hudson's Bay Company flew over Western Canada for 200 years before Confederation"

69: What is a Cabinet Minister?

Cabinet minster doesnt have to be an MP. A lot of people on the list here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabinet_of_Canada are not MPs. Discover canada says: "In the federal government, the Prime Minister selects the Cabinet ministers and is responsible for the operations and policy of the government" aka the PM can select anyone to be a cabinet minster.

1- Which legal document recognizes the cultural diversity of Canadians?

Discover canada page 8: The canadian charter of rights and freedoms.

Section 27 of Canadian charter of Rights and Freedoms is referenced by the Canadian Multiculturalism Act (1988). In other words - the multiculturalism act resulted in the definition of multiculturalism as a right in the charter of rights and freedoms.

Edit: You are overthinking this. I cant stress this enough. READ THE BOOK. Forget the tests online - NONE of them look anything like the test. The test is a LOT easier - you just have to read the book.

What types of jobs are provided by service industries?
a. Tourism and government
b. Communications and retail services
c. All of the above
d. Transportation and education

Indicated: B, I chose All of the above

God!
Thank you for this clarification. Q # 1 and about the bay was really confusing but that was a nice explanation

Can we discuss the test questions on a public forum? I don't think this is the right thing to do!
