2nd PRTD

Hello all,

I have a peculiar situation and would appreciate your valuable response.

I got my PRTD which was valid for 1 year, up to 5-July-2022. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, I could not travel to Canada.

Can I re-apply for and get PRTD 2nd time? My PR card is expired and what complicates my situation is that I am not meeting Residency Obligations.

What all options do I have?

Thanks in advance.

You can certainly apply again. Whether you are approved will be up to IRCC. Since you don't meet the residency requirements, you will need to submit H&C considerations with the application.

Are you ready to permanently relocate to Canada now? If you get approved for the PRTD based on H&C the expiry date on the PRTD is usually maximum 6 months. Processing for PRTD based on H&C can be quite long so you may have to wait around 6 months (can be shorter or longer) to see if you are approved first.

Based on current scenario..PRTD under H&C is getting approval in 15 days...and it may be valid if year of issued under RC1..
