I might be wrong but I thought reward is not always the bonus, salary is also a kind of reward and it was mentioned that they were awarded profitable contract.....

Exactly. It was a profitable contract for the legal egg sellers and distributors as per the essay. That means the business was rewarding to them

It was true as they are getting 70℅ of the profit in the form of salary

Moreover answer is one week was written in bracket because regular was ticked on one of the columns and other Alrtnative was cancelled. Considering tick for recorded and it's not other alternative, it was 1 week instead of 3
