Well the good news is, when you are out of status and apply for restoration, you're allowed to wait in Canada while they process it, so all hope is not lost!

I can't believe this- the lawyers I've been working with have never mentioned that I would be out of status at any point. This is earth shattering news.

Your lawyers suck.

You are out of status. As far as I know, submitting a TRP app doesn't actually grant any form of status, so I would say that you have been out of status since the OWP app was returned in April.
