No..I have just applied on Jan-2011 and my file is just transferred to VO London...but i have read some experiences of people in news paper comments...i am also not sure about it..but it is always better to research on your side...
because i am having job here in UAE..so dont want to get in something bad than here..
thats why ...

Thanks for your feed back..

I am not able to understand where your hesitation is :(..

Is it with immigrating to Canada? Or finding a job as an architect there?

I cannot comment on the first as it is always a personal decision :)

The second, however, yes, it is very difficult to get a great job as an Architect there, as the profession is regulated. You will need to be registered as an architect first and that is not very easy. It involves a whole lot of exams, interviews, internships which can stretch anywhere from a year to 3.

BUT, if you are really determined to succeed, you can take up other jobs RELATED to the industry and profession, such as Construction management, Project management, while trying to register yourself and sustain your first few months/years there..

It all depends on how well you are prepared to face that challenge.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Yes..off-course i am worried about Job perspective as An Architect...not for immigration because I don't want to compromise with my carrier. If i can find small job as a Draftsman that's also OK but not interested in other field for surviving.

Since you have mentioned time for 1/3 years for registering, it is better to take further education there right or wrong?

Since i have a only bachelors degree i am thinking to study further also...

Do you have any idea,

Is there benefit for PR holding person in terms of Fess or Admission for further study or is it the same for outsider to take an admission?

Thanks

It might be a good idea to do a masters there :) It's very much easier and cheaper once you become a PR ;)

Good luck.. I invite you to join our group @

Hello Indira,

I first want to congratulate you for all your efforts for animating forums and helping people. I also had a chance to take a look at your blog, and I found it very interesting.

I'm also an Architect, from Morocco, but graduated in France (Master in Architecture + Licence to practice architecture in France, also valid for Morocco). I'm 5 years experienced. I have tried to outlook architect's job market in Canada, but I definitely think we must first be there to seriously start finding a job.

My question is concerning the regulation for architects. Must we be first registered for working ? Even as employees ?

My actual PR request status is "In Process". I hope to receive soon my MR…

I propose you to keep in touch and to share our immigration experience as architects.

Kind regards,

John

John,

Yes, one needs to be registered to work under the designation 'Architect'.

Hello,
I am new to this and just came across this thread. I know it is about applying for PR as a skilled worker but I needed some advice on my situation. My boyfriend/common-law partner is trying to immigrate to Canada from Holland (I am a cdn citizen) through a spousal sponsorship. He graduated recently from Holland with a Bachelor in Architecture and Construction Management (so he can do both technically). I thought that I had seen somewhere (I forget now where) that architectects were one of the "needed" jobs in Canada and that my boyfriend could apply for an open work permit without having recieved a job offer in Canada. Is this at all correct?
As well how easy/difficult is it to get a job as a project manager/construction manager/Autocad drafter in Canada being from a foreign country because if my boyfriend cannot apply for an open work permit then he will first have to have a job offer BEFORE getting a work permit which seems to be quite difficult.
I hope someone can please help!

i applied for FSW-NOC-2151 on 30 dec 2010 from Jeddad KSA.documents were recieved by CIO on 4th Jan 2011.today i recieved "request for medical Certificate (MC) and police certificate (PC).currently i am residing in Pakistan for the last six months.
Do i have to aquire Police certificate from KSA where i resided for two years or have to submit PC for Pakistan only (my current residency).
The letter recieved states to "inform them if the current status of residence has changed".
How long does MC/PC process takes.
what are the further steps.

Hi.
Yes you have to take PCC from each of the country where you have reside more than 6 months. After you will finish your medical it will take around 3-4 months for PPR. They did not ask you about RPRF????

Hi there,
I've been looking for a discussion specifically on architects who have graduated from the UAE. There is no board exam in the Emirates, and as such, I would like to know what this will mean to the process of being accredited as an architect in Canada. I have already filed an application and its with VO London now. And I would like to start looking at what needs to be done for me to work as a licensed architect in Canada...considering I have been working as one here since I graduated.

Your thoughts are would be appreciated.
