Aug 2023; Husband still stuck on BG clearance. Our last update was a year ago.

Did applying webforms and/or contacting the MP for an IRCC inquiry help anyone?

I tried all these Webforms , GCMS notes , CBSA notes and Contacted MP and my MP did followup every month for 3 months , nothing Changed

Wow, have you tried contacting MP, Mandamus etc? Does Mandamus actually work for candidates or it's just coincidence that it gets resolved because their application is close to deadline anyway?

At least some of the time it gets resolved because close to completion anyway - or sometimes just sending the demand letter itself (the first stage in process) encourages someone in IRCC to check and clear rather than deal with the paperwork.

Other cases - "it depends."

I tried MP...both before and after the election, but both MP offices couldn't do anything once IRCC said this is non-routine. IMO I call that non-routine a bs, it's just a get out of jail free card for IRCC to not do anything.

And for mandamus, like armoured said, it's a little by chance. I've also posted previously that I talked to a lawyer and she actually talked me out of doing it, even though she would get the most financial benefit out of the situation.

in the GSMC notes are you application Open/ in progress or its set to "on hold" ?

I submitted my application in Aug 23, received AOR in Sep 23 (Vancouver Office). I have submitted my fingerprints twice, ordered GCMS twice nothing is working, everytime I raise a webform I get the same message that application is under progress and no additional document needed, it's like talking to a effing wall! Crap!

Though my criminality is passed in the GCMS notes but it is not upated on the tracker, stuck in this shit for more than 21 months!

I got an update today. Prohibition completed.
Oath not started yet.

I received invite for oath of citizenship today. My oath date will be in July.
