2016 Parent sponsorship

New to the forum...Hi!

So, I got in the parental sponsorship 5k cap this year. Got the email confirmation from CIC last week.

My question to the collective knowledge of the group..... Given that the program shut down for a couple of years, and CIC is now working on 2014 applications, how long do we think the process will take? The website just says "working on 2014 applications" and i can't find any other info. (sponsoring parents from UK, if that helps).

CIC was aiming to get the overall processing time down to around the four year mark (one of the main reasons the cap was put in place). Having said that, the Liberals said they would be doubling the cap - so unknown at this time what that will do to the previous processing time projections. So I think the best you can hope for is four years - but it obviously could be more.

The website just says "working on 2014 applications"

Sorry, where did you see this? The website I go to says "working on 2011 applications"....

A few forums, including this one (not sure what thread). 2014 sponsors are posting that they are starting to see movement/being told their applications are now "in process".

CIC website says "Nov 2011".

Makes sense I guess, after 2011 it jumps to 2014 because 2012 and 2013 had no applications.
