Could definitely be more challenging. Explain that you have not yet received any communication from CIC and are concerned that perhaps your application has been misplaced.

Do neither of you have a UCI? You would have one if you previously applied for other visa types i.e. study permit, visitor visa.

I just saw a post by tricia-chile in the Mexico forum who said that she had to phone to receive BOTH AOR & SA results from CIC. So it is possible that they can find out what is happening with your application. She also had them email her the AOR & SA.

Good luck on Monday!

But I never applied for any..

Is she in Mexico too? Therefore they were able to release information?
Im really hoping this would work. Any updates is fine as long as I hear from them.
Please pray for me..

Here are some reasons why I am so worried right now:
1. I was studying in the Philippines for college though I was being supported by my spouse and my parents, therefore I have No Income in Canada. And I went back to Canada while I was already pregnant which is why I didnt look for a job. Then I gave birth, then went back here in the Philippines just for a vacation. Everythig I said here is stated in our application. And I am not in any social assistance or welfare.

2. I am here in the Philippines and I was not able to reach the CRA to get the Option C printout. But I sent them my NOA which states that i have no income. And i included a letter of explanation.

3. The form IMM 0008 is an August form and the most recent update up to January was a November form. Thus; I was expecting for them to ask for a updated form.

4. My spouse's police clearance was Issued in Oct. 3, and they received our application in January 14. So, that is 11 days late.

5. I am a Canadian Citizen in a vacation here in the Philippines for almost 5 months.

Please tell me if any of those reasons could be the cause of the delays. Or they just havent or forgotten to update us just like some of the January 13 and 14 applicants who had to call about their situation..

If you apply outland will you be able to travel to Canada to visit your spouse while the application is being processed?

It depends on where you are from. If you are from a visa-exempt country, you can stay for up to 6 months usually at which time you can either leave for a bit and come back or apply for an extension. If you're not from a visa-exempt country, you would have to apply for a visitor visa. I'm from the US, so I've pretty much 'lived' here since December 2013. I have kids back in the US, so I try to plan visits to them around the time when my six months is ending, so I can renew it. Anyway, there is no rule that says you can't visit during an outland application, but if you can't convince the officer that you aren't going to overstay, they may not grant you a visa.

Hi Guys,

hoping someone could help me with the AOR here. I received a letter from CIC saying that my outland application to sponsor my wife who is in India was received and the file has been forwarded to india. I had applied in January and received this email in March. It has UCI and file no. so i am confused now, what is AOR? Do you received separate email for that.
Also once the file has been forwarded to the concerned country, in this case India, how long does it usually take?
What happens next? do they ask for more documents?
Please help me out guys, really confused right now.

Thanks,
Amit

AOR = Acknowledgement Of Receipt of your application. If the file has been forwarded to India that would indicate that you have been approved as a sponsor and the file has been forwarded to the appropriate Visa Office for processing in India which is New Delhi. Official processing time is 16 months and can be found here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

Answers to any other questions you might have can likely be found here in the New Dehli forum:

Good Luck!

You received sponsorship approval (you can "support" your spouses PR application.

You most likely received AOR earlier however it did not get to you for one reason or another (check your email spam).

That is good news for you. You are onto the stage 2 wait (check the individual visa office time for your processing time)

Absolutely not, I really don't think you'll have any problems because of this. I am living in Ecuador with my husband for a couple years now, you do not need to make a certain amount of money to be approved; this is not an issue. I also submitted my notice of assesment because I didn't get my option C on-time and was approved for sponsorship. With the forms, if anything they will contact you so you can send un updated form. I think you should try and stay calm, try and get through to them on the phone; maybe you will just receive SA over the telephone.

Stay positive!

Hi everyone,

I have been following the forum and have just registered. My app was received Jan 9th and AOR on March 14th. So far no SA :(... I called CIC this morning but they couldn't give me an update but instead sent an email to (somewhere) request follow up. They told me to call back in 3 months....

Same with me i got AOR March 13th, when I called the CIC call centre they told my application was classified as inland or they think it is land, when it was supposed to be outland. I would contact your sponsor's MP( master of parliament which represents her borough) which is what I did to get some response about what the hell is going on with my application., and the call centre sent a response to CPC-M regarding my application which they said will take 2-6 weeks. My advice is to you is, if you want a quicker response then what the call centre will give you contact your sponsor's MP who will then contact CIC directly which is what i am waiting on right now. I know the waiting and not knowing is what kills you but you can only hope for the best.
