2014 London VO kept at Mississauga applicants!

My timeline-

Medicals done: July 21st, 2014
App. received: August 6th, 2014
File transfer to Mississauga: October 14th, 2014
Additional documents and ROPR fee requested: October 14th, 2014
AOR: October 28th, 2014
Sponsorship Approval: October 28th, 2014


As you can see my timeline is pretty interesting, I was requested to pay the ROPR fee even before we officially received SA. A call centre agent told me that straightforward cases were being streamlined and stage 1+2 being processed simultaneously to save time.

It is worth noting that you were told you had received SA before your file was transferred by a call center agent, but you only received a letter on the 28th of October, correct?

It was quite strange; the agent wouldn't directly confirm that as I wasn't the sponsor but he said that they wouldn't start processing stage 2 unless stage 1 was approved. I can't confirm 100% in what sequence everything happened :

It would be good if they are processing 1+2 at the same time but it just doesn't seem right as if the person gets declined as a sponsor then its wasted time, I am sure there are only a handful. They just need to re do the whole process but I guess its easier said then done.

App Filled - 22nd Aug
Received - 25th Aug
Sponsorship Approval - 6th Oct
Email to PA (me) - 2nd Oct (asking for updated form/marriage cert)
In Progress - 6th Oct (Day the updated documents arrived at CIC-M)

I never received an AOR other then asking for more forms. We have already paid all the fees.

So I don't know how long the wait time is but the last few "Decision made" have waited less then 2 months from the Sponsorship Approval.

Hmm my additional stuff arrived and were signed for on Oct. 24th but ECAS still says "application received", hope mine will go to "in process" soon too

Fingers crossed it will arrived.. That would be awesome and one big thing less to worry about. Although being in England all my life I am not sure I want to tackle the Canadian winter straight away! I was very surprised how quick it went in progress, I was very happy but I know now its a longer wait time for in progress to decision made.

It could just be what happened with your SA it might already be in progress you just dont know. From what I have read some people seem to get there emails before anything is even updated in ECAS. Hopefully it will update soon

They emailed you the PA for additional information . Cic keeps asking me for additional info the sponsor .Did you sent it to Mississauga. Was your sponsorship in process or the PA in process.

They asked me the PA for additional info. I sent it to Mississauga last week. We received SA on October 20th, ecas says my application is in process

Yaay... lets now hope stage 2 is quick. Maybe you might get yours before Xmas as well. ;D
