Hi,
I am a PhD student at University of Alberta. My wife and I do not have a kid yet. I recently submitted my PR application. But today I realized something that might be a problem.
The IMM5612E form states that "Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible currency available for settlement in Canada:
• current bank certification letter; or
• evidence of savings balance; or
• fixed or time deposit statements."

I submitted a copy of bank statement as a proof of funds. However, Some portion (a small portion though) of my money was under my checking account, while the major portion (but less than 14720 dollars) of the money was under my savings account. Does savings balance mean the balance in my savings account? Will the money in my checking account be considered? Thank you.
Kyle
