Basically if you see in process on ECAS it means your PPR is in a few days after that in your case.

Hi marcolee,

I was wondering the same thing. There are some people here that completed their process far faster than anyone I know personally. Here are our dates:
BC PnP approved April 2013 (we live in Canada)
submitted federal form to Nova Scotia in July 2013
Received medical request letter from Nova Scotia in September 2013
Completed Medicals in October 2013
Received request letter for and submitted police certificates in December 2013

We haven't heard anything since. We were a little concerned that they don't acknowledge receipt of our police certificates.
But, someone I know locally who has gone through this process told me that this is normal.

Everyone personally that I know here that has gone through this has taken 13 months or more from the day they filed the application with Ottawa.

I suppose we'll wait until early summer before inquiring with CIC regarding status.

What do you think?

@ hfinkel

important question .. who did request police certificates?

But i may receive a document request instead before turning into "In process", right?

It depends on where your initial file was done..

All applications to be sent to NS as it is a Central Intake ..

My application sent to CIO-NS but in the application form, the Visa office to process is CPP-Ottawa.

Check your application package if possible and let me know ..

it is new to me too but it gave me some explanation why my case did not change ..

May be it will be good idea if everyone checked his application form and send the name of the visa office mentioned along with his timeline so we can undestand better

Basically from what i've read is that:

If your file is initially checked by CIO-NS, you get in process in ECAS and 2-7 ( i guess it depends on how long it takes to do security check) months after that you get PPR.

If both initial and final check is done at CPP-ottawa, it takes about 6-10 months before you get PPR request after meds received. (In total approx 12-13 months from the time you sent your application (not AOR) to PPR).

But take this with a grain of salt; remember that checks take a different amount of time for people so it's hard to say any hard and fast rule about when you're going to get it.

It also seems that they do it in batches of applicants, which is why some people who applied in july have got it and some are still waiting..

but according their reply end of Jan 2014, they did not start processing my case yet, which is almost 5 months now from "medical received"
