Thanks for information. Just worry about delay caused by the strike. Good luck!

This I what i read

15 Canadian Visa Offices Temporarily Shut Down Due to Strike

Monday, 29 July 2013

Beginning Monday, 15 major Canadian visa offices will temporarily shut down as visa officers escalate a general strike.
The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) has been conducting rotating strikes at embassies and consulates around the world in response to a dispute with the Federal government over payment practices. After further negotiations failed to result in compromise, the union has decided to halt all services at Canada's 15 largest visa offices.

The following centres will be subject to the withdrawal of all services:
Abu Dhabi
Ankara
Beijing
Cairo
Delhi/Chandigarh
Hong Kong
London
Manila
Mexico City
Moscow
Paris
Riyadh
Sao Paulo
Shanghai

Prior to this action, PAFSO's rotating strikes have already caused a sharp rise in wait times for visas around the world. This has already negatively affected the Canadian economy, especially at the height of summer tourist season.

It is unknown when the general strike will be lifted.

Where are you from????

Oh Hong Kong is there in the list. Thats bad. Good luck. Which category are you in. What's your time line.

hi banoffee,

you can update your own timeline in this tracking sheet

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Agz-5CcDIylRdHFOZExHeDVTa3NoRlRESjhOcnJ3T1E#gid=0

Also, from what i have heard from other news, the strike has been going on for a while now. But they are still working to still continue serving us. But of course, there will still be delays ...i think the 60 days leadtime is considered as delay already.

updated (7/31/2013) - As per news, the strike completely paralyzes the whole transactions ? awww, thats bad... :(

Hi, banoffee, how's your AOR? have u received it already? ty.
