There is no way to even complain against them. They hold the power so they r all in all.

yes MP is member of parliament.

And the faster processing of applicants after you is actually very common. They don't do it in chronological order, but batches of applicants together, from what I can tell, which makes me think that the people who are still waiting files are with visa officers that are backlogged.

Hi this is sinp and my old account got screwed up so I made a new one. @ shifat MP as an member of parliament

I know about the processing times, but thing here is about playing fair game. How come applicants filed in Aug and late sep are getting their PPR's and applicants who filed in late June and the whole month of July are still waiting....Mp will consider if you explain them your situation

@Snip

Could you provide more information about how to contact MP. Thanks

Find a local MP contact # via google...just type in your city, for instance " contact regina mp" and it will show up his address, email and phone number, make sure you csll them first to make an appointment

@dior, I am done with my PR process but I am concerned because my sister filed in the 1st week of July and she is still waiting for ppr.... I am getting pissed at the end of every week by seeing people getting the ppr or DM who filed 2 months after her, I am going to the local MP's office next week with her to enquire about her status and will let everyone on this forum know how it goes

fair enough. I hope it helps. As for me i haven't seen anyone in my province after me get their PR so i'm just going to have to keep waiting.

Yeah i hope so !!! Here in my province at least 20 applicants who filed in Aug, Sep and 1st week of Oct have gotten their PPR and if not PPR then at least they have got a DM on their Ecas, So i want to visit the MP to know what is really going on out their in Capital. I do not want to expedite my process i just want to know how long is it gonna take to get her PPR

@ Shifat, I know at least 6-7 people who waited for PPR for 8 months after their Ecas changed to "In Process" , and soon after visiting the MP they all got their PPR within a week. I don't know if that was a mere coincidence of them visiting the MP and getting their ppr within a week or they were meant to get their ppr that week !!! My sister got in process in October and it has been 7 months since then she haven't heard anything from CIC

Thanks man. My one changed to In Process since December 23. I have seen couple of people to get ppr though they applied later than me (Max of them under different province though). Iwill rather wait couple of weeks and if I don't find any update, I am trying to seek help from MP. Please, also give us the update after meeting the MP for your sister.

I was about to have GCMS thru my cousin who is in Canada. but it says

Note: If you are submitting a request under the Privacy Act for information belonging to someone else, the individual to whom the information belongs must also be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or currently living in Canada.

I am in usa.. does that mean I cannot order GCMS notes.

Not the privacy act... Its under Access to Information act but you have to send him an signed authorization letter through email and he needs to attach it with the application to Access information.

They are different. Or if you want to do it with GCMS website.. This is a third party agency that can apply on your behalf they do charge $35, again you need to fill up an authorization letter that they have...

Just ask your cousin...Again when applying through CIC website there will be a question whether you want to get the file under Privacy Act or Access to Information Act. Select the Access to Information Act.

Honestly GCMS notes are nice but it's not very useful and you can't really determine much from them. Especially since you get them one month late.

I disagree. It has been very helpful in determining where I am in my application... Not to mention the actual notes written by the immigration officer on the file. The correspondence between my lawyer and the immigration officer.. When and how these correspondences was issued. Knowing is what drives me...

But then again this is just me, my opinion, based on my situation. I understood 90% of the entry on GCMS .. It's not that hard really.

One significant part is that knowing I've passed the Medical, Criminality and Eligibility... The Eligibility part is important for me too.. Since my work permit is expiring in May ( I've already submitted an application for an open Bridging work permit) it says on the site that I must have a positive response on the Eligibility criteria on GCMS before I can get an open Bridging work permit..

Another thing to point out is that they have a bring forward date which is September this year, in my case, which also means that by that time I need to redo the Medical and resubmit up to date Police Certificate.

I can go on and on but these are just some of the info I have on my GCMS notes.

But then it depends on our individual point of view.

Some MPs won't intervene since the delay listed on the CIC is around 17-20 months, but I'll consider it if i don't hear anything back in the next 2 weeks.

Yes you are right... They will only respond more if applications have been in processes for more than the said processing times... My friend got an email from CIC stating that he needs to wait 14 months for his application.. And to not contact them again. :(

That sucks though but atleast he knows , how long does he need to wait. Let's see what happen with us. by the way, I hope I will be getting my GCMS soon as I applied last month's 23. I will share the update as soon as I get it.

The medicals are only valid for 1 year then how come they are telling to wait 14 months ?
