Since 26 June 2010 new rules are applicable including processing of first 20,000 FSW applications. I want to know if this limit will reach in July 2010? For all practicle purpose new rules are an end of previous generous immigration policy (with intake of about 200,000).

Secondly, these 20,000 processed applications include rejection as well or only sucessful applications?

Kindly advise me.

Regards

It only includes successful applicants.

This cap thing is so sad, we have to wish others to fail to increase our chance of success (others loss can be my gain). I never ever had thought in my life that I would wish anyone to fail for my success OR I will block someone else success.

sooooooooooo sad...

20000 applicatns plus family members comes ot be near 100000 visas. annual quota is 265000 out of which half are other categories of family, pnp, etc., etc., so there wont be much difference !

There might be some who gets okay'ed at CIO and hence are part of the 20000 quota and then suppose they get rejected at the visa office, then a late applicant has a better chance to take up that place. Is that how it works?

We do this whenever we compete for a university place or a job. There are only finite items in a shop. We usually want to be part of the numbers that make it to the shop to able to grab those items and hope others fail. These are done subconsciously and we should do the same for this immigration process too.
