Really feeling very sad. I had completed two years of study, each year from separate but recognized colleges in Canada and was totally eligible for three years work permit. But, I'm shocked to see today that I just got one year work permit after having invested so much money into education. This is such an unfair decision from CIC. Don't know what to do. Can somebody plz help me?

Hi

Which course you have done?
How many total credits?
How man total semesters?

It does not depend on number of years of studies but on your course credit. Give me the name of program/ course

@rabrakha

Thanks for your reply. My first program was graduate certificate in Corporate Communication and Public Relations from Fanshawe College and my second program was graduate certificate in International Business Management from Seneca College

We had eight courses for first sem and five courses plus field placement in second sem for Fanshawe. In first sem, each course had 3 credits while in second sem too, each course had 3 credits but field placement had 7 credits. Total credit units for Fanshawe College in first semester were 24 and second semester were 22.

We had seven courses in both first and second sem for Seneca. In both first and second sem, each course had 5 credits. Total credit units for Seneca College in first sem are 35 and second sem are also 35.

I guess there's no issue with course credits.

By the way, I had called CIC toll-free number today and they put a note to grant me 3 years work permit on my behalf for the visa processing center.

That's great, hopefully it works out for you. would you mind to update whether CIC grants you 3 years work permit later?

Thanks

Hey, I got my case notes that I had ordered from CIC. They sent me a PDF document but I am not able to understand it. Has anyone read case notes before? In the email, they also sent a link to the Record Correction Request Form stating that I have the right to request the correction of any errors I believe to exist in any of the enclosed information which originated with Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees Canada. Do u hv an idea about this form? Also, as I said before, the CIC agent put a note for reconsideration to the visa processing centre; so, I'm waiting for CIC's reply to that note as well.

HI , i have the same issue , I just got 1 year pgwp today, i had done both post graduate courses from niagara college, total of 2 years. Please advice me on the steps you have taken to resolve this with cic since you got your pgwp.

Thanks

Hi, I read that you also got one year PGWP after doing two programs of graduate level study. I had called CIC toll free number and they put a note to the visa processing centre for reconsideration of my PGWP. So, it's been one and a half month and I'm waiting for CIC's reply to that note. Please update me what steps you are taking to correct your PGWP as we both are in similar situations.
