Hi, I'm planning to study for 2 years a marketing diploma and get a PGWP for 3 years.
Currently, I'm interested to study in Vancouver and for my studies, I got a budget of 75k cad
But I prefer to spend less because it's my parent's money and I don't want to take what I do not need.

So considering that I will have to study for 2 years
housing costs
medical insurance
driving license
going out
food
etc
+ will work (but can't be dependant on that)

will 50,000 CAD is going to be enough?
if not, then how much? (60,65)
(Basically, my question is whats the equilibrium point in CAD of not living a broke lifestyle and having just enough to get you to want you to need.)

P.S - I'm a minimalist, barely shop out of emotional needs but more of a necessity, I don't smoke, drink only beer
and loveee nature.
so my expenses are not your avg Canadian "Supreme" t-shirt guy.

Vancouver rent will be expensive. Would not get a car since that will also be a huge expense between the car and insurance. All depends on your tuition and what kind of rental you can find.

Hi, thanks for the answer, About rent I found a 650-700 apartment with utilities in Surrey/New Westminster
as for a car, I wasn't planning to anyway.. its a huge expense ill prefer to live close to my college and i heard Vancouver has an excellent transit system
the tuition is pricy about 36,000
rent 16800
food 7200
medical insurance 1680
together is 61,680
(all calculations are for 2years)

I know that it comes way above 50,000
but also considering that I can work part-time
let's say, 500$ per month

that is 12,000+50,000= 62,000 out of 75k estimated budget
just about enough...

and as for going out bars/cafe/clubs, ill just use the extra money of my budget or work harder during summer

Sorry for the long boring economics post, but I'm really a numbers guy and I prefer to not be surprised and prepare financially for such a big move.
so am I missing something?

Feel like your rent is pretty low and may be difficult to find. There is no money for transportation or things like mobile phone which can easily add $150+ per month.

Transportation is included in the tuition.
Phone plans yup your right. +40$ is 960$
so 63,000

and rent is according to Kijiji and Facebook marketplace I found quite a few actually
but I don't know how the renting market works in Canada
If the landlord has more power or the renters...
