got a question, what is the exact interpretation of the number of days shown for PR cards processing on the CIC processing timeline ! I have noticed that they keep varying, were 48 days when I landed and now it is 63 days. Should I expect my card to be processed and delivered within 48 days or .... Pls suggest. Thanks

Since I have been following closely the processing time for my PR card, as per my understanding, the time it took CIC to process 80% of the cases on a particular date is posted as number of days on the site. e.g when you landed and you saw 48 days means people who landed about 48 days back got their PR card when you landed. My be after 2 months (which is lets say now) when you saw processing time as 63 days means the people who landed 63 days back will get their PR card now.
Hope this clarifies.

resprctfully I doubt if this is the case. This way a person who lands today will know his PR card processing time only after he receives it :(

Yes, unfortunately this is the case. do you have any means to predict exactly how many days it will take for a person to receive his PR if he landed today? the days posted on the site only tell you how many days it took to process 80% of the immigrants who landed previously. It does not mean that when you landed the processing time shown on site was 40 days will also apply to you. your actual time may be longer or shorter than that, depending on the work load and season.

kindly see below extract from CIC website:

"If I apply today, will the processing times show how long it will take to finalize my application?

No. The processing times only show the time it took visa offices to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during a specified period in the past. They may not accurately predict future processing times."
