Hi,

Two consecutive PG course may not meet the minimum credit hours required for 3 year PGWP.

so you better calculate the total credit hours for 2 PG courses. It should be around 57 to 60 credit hours.

Enfield can you elaborate plz. Like how can we know about the credit hours of the course and usually what are the credit hours for 1 year PG certificate.

Hi,

Check your school website/Program structure for total credit hours.

Post Graduate Work Permit is all about a matter of credit hours. A typical 4 year Under Graduate degree consists of 120 credit hours. And MBA program usually stands for 57 credit hours. In fact, one year Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (as run by John Molson School of Business, Concordia University) contains around 19 credit hours (last time I checked in 2009).

In matter of two consecutive PG courses (mainly Diploma/Certificates) it’s little bit complicated to reach the minimum of credit hours for a full 3 year PGWP (which I believe is around 57 to 60 credit hours). I am sure one year Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate can't be more thn 20 to 22 credit hours (correct me if I am wrong)

My elder sibling did MBA in 15 months with full 57 credit hours (original duration was 18 months) and received a full 3 year PGWP. And on this forum we have one classic case where a student did a full 2 year course but ended up with 1 year of PGWP. So, now we can understand the importance of credit hours. Problem comes when we aspire for a 3 year PGWP otherwise all courses get qualify for 1 year PGWP.

I checked the website of my college and checked the program coursework and the hours of instruction and credits of all those courses and I concurred that in that specific 1 year course I get 35 credits. Is it possible? and will I able to secure a 3 year post-grad work permit on the basis of 2 such PG courses?
