I applied for PR in sept of 2011. Interview waived. everything in order. Buffalo closed and I have not heard one word except our MP found out the file was transferred to Ottawa in July. I have emailed five times... to Ottawa. Form letter response telling me not to write but giving me no answers. Our medicals have long since expired.

I no longer want to be part of this system. This is more messed up than anyone could've imagined. The wait time has been almost double what it should've been. and it kills me to see people applying in March and April and June of 2012 and landing already. My marriage is now almost at the breaking point. I give up. AGAIN!

By the way, Ottawa says they are now taking 12 months to process. THAT is on top of the 11 months I had already waited at the time.

Excuse me, but do you think to be the only who has been waiting for that long?
Well, guess what? You are NOT alone.

And if your marriage is at a breaking point for this reason, to be honest you should question the values your marriage is based on.

I am not here to judge anyone so please don't get me wrong. Sure thing this long frustrating process is stressful, but do you know what this waiting made me understand even more? That I couldn't chose a better, more special and amazing person of my fiance! We always try to find a reason to laugh about this Immigration process we are in, we always support each other during the days we feel down, we always try to be optimistic and positive no matter what. Yes, it's hard, it's hard live with one salary only, it's hard thinking that our future and our lives are in CIC's hands, it's hard doing nothing all day, it's hard dreaming to have a kid and waiting because I am not cover in Canada and my private health insurance doesnt cover pregnancy, it's hard but in 2 is way easier than being alone.

Request your notes to see what's going on your application.

Good Luck whatever you decide to do!

My marriage is not in trouble because of who I married. I appreciate what you're trying to say, but with all due respect, you don't really have an idea of what I'm talking about. If you see your husband more than 4 times a year for a week at a time, if you eat dinner with him, wake up next to him... good for you. Live 2000 miles away from him for four years, lose your parents, celebrate every holiday apart, celebrate everything apart, cry over the phone when grieving over the death of a parent, and tell me the situation is the same. It isn't. Thanks anyway.
