@scylla I created my express entry profile and current score 390.
job offer 50 points not yet added.
one year Canadian experience per system calculation completes Jun 1st 2022 since started Jul 12th 2021.

Technically I complete 1 year exp by Aug 18th 2022 as 6 weeks remote added from Jul 12th 2022.

How many extra points do I get after completing 1year? 50 + 90 total 140?
Can anyone respond if Job Offer 50 points can only add after acquiring 1 year Canadian experience in profile? Does additional points awarded after 1year would be 50 (Job offer) + 90 (1 Year Canadian experience)??

@Naturgrl ? @tomtom104 ?

Hi Guys, Here's my situation.

I started working in Canada on ICT permit from 7/12/21. went vacation outside Canada for 12weeks (10/1/21 - 1/28/22) out of which 6 weeks vacation and 6 weeks WFH remote. Question, When do I complete 1year CEC experience?

1. 1year CEC experience by 7/12/21 + 1year = 7/12/22?
2. 1year CEC experience by 7/12/21 + 1year + 6weeks (WFH remote) = 7/12/22 + 6weeks?
3. 1year CEC experience by 7/12/21 + 1year + 6weeks (WFH remote) + 6weeks (Vacation) = 7/12/22 +12weeks?
You can only count work experience where you were physically working in Canada. So you cannot count the WFH that was done outside of Canada. You can count the vacation weeks as long as they were paid.
Yes. It's Paid vacation as I have the proofs to show the vacation request submitted in our employer system internally if necessary. Since system calculates 1yr by 7/12/22 and in case if I get ITA, should I reject and wait for ITA 6weeks after 7/12/22 or accept ITA, but submit docs 6weeks after 7/12/22?
You can accept ITA but don't submit your application until you've made up the 12 weeks of work outside of Canada.
Sorry - 6, not 12.

  • Does Letter from HR something along the lines below would be valid to claim 50 points?
  • When should I get the letter from HR? Before ITA? or After ITA?
  • Does the letter becomes valid if I get letter in May 2022 as I may get ITA in Jul and will be applying after 18-Aug-2022
Mr./Ms. XYZ is employed on a Fulltime and Regular basis. The work hours are 40 hours per week. Additionally, with reference to Offer of Employment (the Offer Letter) issued to Mr./Ms. XYZ , dated DD-MM-YYYY, it is further clarified that his Job Offer is for full time and non-seasonal job and it is valid for at least one year after he receives permanent resident visa of Canada.

QQ everyone: I landed in Canada with Job Offer in Nov 6th 2021. Work Started from Nov 8th, 40 Hrs a week, No Leave Without Pay Till Now, however I am planning to visit home country between September 22nd to October 27th while still working from offshore for the Canadian Company. Till when I would need to wait for my 1 year of experience?

You need to work an extra five weeks or so in Canada to make up for the time spent working outside of Canada. So until sometime around the 2nd or 3rd week of December.

Thanks Scylla, if I apply vacations then the 5 week wait time can be reduced correct?

I have OPEN PGWP in canada. I started with my job on 27th MAY 2021 and I submitted my EXPRESS ENTRY profile on 10th April 2022. In the minimum eligibility criteria it says 12 months or 1560 hours of Canadian work experience. I submitted the profile 1 month and 17 days early. I submitted the profile before completing those criteria but the system still let me complete the Express entry profile and submit it. Now the question is my express entry profile valid or no. I haven’t received an INVITATION TO APPLY yet and by the time I get the ITA. I would have more than 1.6 years of experience.

Q.1 Is it okay that I submitted my EE profile 1 month and 17 days before the work anniversary. And without the 1560hrs of work experience.

Q.2 Do they count 1 year of work experience from the date I submitted my EXPRESS ENTRY profile or from the date I got my INVITATION TO APPLY.

Q.3 Should I keep the profile or should I delete the profile and create a new one?
