14 months since sponsorship application was received ,

Hello,
I always read ur posts as a guest , very helpful and lots of info , i just signed up as a member to ask for support , I dont know what to do.

My husband applied for my sponsorship and the file was received on March 16th 2018 , i got the medical request on june 2018 in my junk mail that i didnt notice untill i asked them about it and they said check ur junk mail , anyways I did the medical in Jan 2019 and they received it and updated passed medical exam on feb 7th , then they requested passport renewal copies , now we are in the background check since early February 2019 with absolutely no update till now .
The application is currently at London Visa office and they didnt reply the webform request , I requested GCMS notes since 31 days not received yet.
Could you kindly tell me how long the background check normally takes ?? Do u have london Visa office contact no. ? Anything else i can do ?

Unfortunately, there are some times when an application can take longer than 12 months. The London Visa Office can be one of the slower-processing offices. Additionally, things like a complicated background can make the background check take longer.

You've requested notes, and you should be getting them soon. You've filed a webform. You've done what you can. Unfortunately, you cannot contact the office directly.

Wait a few more days for the notes and see what they say.

Thank you for your reply, so if you have lived between 2 countries this could take them longer to check??
You know the frustration feeling of not being able to commit to something or take major decisions because you are waiting
 
There’s not much you can do and you will probably never know why he was selected for security screening. Ours has been ongoing since January 2019 (application from February 2018).

You should call your M.P., they will provide you with up to date information.

When they send some request you can see it on that site... Maybe, it will be helpful to you so no delays in the future...

How come I didnt come across this post before ! Up to 12 months ! Thats disappointing lol , i better then forget about and just wish for the best , a friend told me if one year passes after medical test , they will ask you to retake it before landing.
 
The delay in your medical exam also likely didn't help - they may not have processed the file at all while they were waiting for the medical.

Yes - you were on hold for six months. Unfortunately you cannot expect normal processing times. Plan on 18 months.
