I don't have a consultant, so I didn't know that. It is not mentioned on Vienna VO check list, so why should I send it? I sent everything that was mentioned, so why sending proof of residency if it wasn't required? First time I heard about that was here on this site two weeks ago.

Can CIO reject the file because I didn't send something that wasn't on the check list and it is on the new check list from 18th July?

Thanks , on or after 14th november , 2011 you have to submit proof of Relative in Canada ( PP or Landing doc ) , Proof of Relationship ( Birth , marriage certificate ) , Proof of residency ( Bills copy , lease agreement copy, tax statement ., bank statemnt etc) , but currently require Relative in Canada and proof of relationship , proof of residency is not mendatory .

Thanks again

Even I feel the same.. They have already got the first 269 apps from the applications that reached on the 4th and 5th itself.. The situation is totally grim and this may not even cross the 10th of July I guess..BTW these applications have undergone only a completeness check and they do not do any in-depth analysis at this stage to speak about quality. The quality aspect comes only in the next stages.

I agree... But remember even an application received on 6th has been charged.. So I think they're handling july6th applications now...? Hmm.. No idea...

Only 10 more applications in 1122 than last updated on 29th July - so either the rate they are coming in, or the rate CIO are opening them, is slowing down!

Thanx Wayne,

I guess the latter is true , as per the spreadsheet , the rate of applications posted increased after 6th July.

Hey Wayne,

Being a senior in the forum, maybe you can help give us some idea abt the processing of the files. As for CIC, complete applications that r updated in the website includes CC BD encashment, or just the complete documents? Becoz in a strange way, even today, we heard from Yesboss that his CC got encashed, and his file had reached on the 5th July itself. And we have not heard from any1 after that date. Can it be possible that CIO is still stuck processing the files received till 5th July, and the numbers on their website show files till 5th.

Others who have already had many discussions on the forum regarding this, I believe you have a lot to say on this. But not to be rude, I want some review from Wayne, just to get a purview from a senior member.

There should be a slow down in the days just before and after 18th due to a change in application format/processes.

Hi, my belief is that an application counts towards the cap once the completeness check has been performed.

My guess is then that encashment then happens concurrently with the file being sent for the eligibility review (i.e. payment slip sent to accounts department, file sent to immigration officer for eligibility review). So delays in encashment could simply be workload within the accounts department/team.

However unless we get anyone from CIO telling us exactly how it works, we can only guess with regards their internal structure! :)

We will have to see what happens with the next update. I was very surprised to see only 10 more for 1122, but then again just because they only opened and checked 10 more, it does not mean that many more are not still waiting.

Totally agree with Wayne, I think they count the applications before CC/BD are encashed and they should have an extra cap just in case some are rejected because of payment.

However, I dont think they only opened 10.. not all are ok, they could have opened 30 but 20 were rejected... who knows.

1122 is very critical so I think they will update the cap to not receive more applications if 500 is reached.

Ideally opening of application happens within a week of it reaching the CIC. This is based on the last year's pattern.

Good news folks. I can also report that sometime between Aug 2nd and 3rd my CC was debited for fees... Yay!

Please update my details in spreadsheet, as per below:

app sent: 30th june 2011
app received: 6th july 2011
app received by: KRSZWDA
mode of payment: CC - fees taken on Aug 2nd 2011
destination: vancouver
agent: no

Please keep the faith and positive thinking people. I'm a 6th July applicant so they are slowly making their way through applications. I expect other forum members to gradually confirm their CCs are debited, and BDs encashed. Be patient.

Like someone else said on this forum, this is the first step. We still have to go through eligibility reviews, medicals etc, but I can breathe a small sigh of relief for getting through this initial stage!

Thanks for all the support. Will keep you updated.
