Hi

I am just trying to understand how can someone miscount his days for citizenship... I am using the calculator online. Wondering how do people miscount their days and send their application before the right time

Some people don't use the online calculator and instead calculate the days manually.

Some people also forget about trips or don't enter the right days for trips.

These are two reasons why people sometimes submit the citizenship application before they actually have the required number of days.

I had a lot of travel, so much so that some of my stamps were on top of each other, making it almost impossible to make out. And since I didn't keep all my boarding passes, there were some travel where i could not remember the exact dates. Hence I gave myself a buffer of almost 2 weeks (14 extra days) when I applied just in case I got some dates wrong. People who apply right on 1095 or 1096 is taking a risk IMHO. Why not wait a extra few days? You already waited that long, just wait a bit longer to be safe.
