Hi,
I have been a landed PR since July 2010. After a 200 day absence following my landing I returned to Canada and have been here ever since March 2011. As of today I have 950 days of Physical presence in Canada. I have just excepted a job to move to the USA with my current company, to work on a Canadian project from the US.
When I leave I expect that I will be 30days sort of the 1095 days.
My girlfriend is a Canadian citizen and is accompanying me to the US so I am not concerned about losing my PR.
I own a house in Canada and have been paying taxes here for the last 3 years.
I was wondering if I can make return trips to push me over the 1095 days? What is required in terms of 'residency' and physical presence? If I keep certain ties can I justify I am still resident even though I am not working in Canada?
The alternative is to apply with less than 1095 days but it seems unlikely that I would be successful in getting citizenship based on other posts.
Thanks
