I am a US citizen who has been studying abroad in Quebec for 1 academic year (10 months) and I read somewhere on the CIC website that international students can apply for Permanent Residency after one year of study here.
But I also have read in various places that I must graduate from a Canadian university in order to get PR.
Does anyone out there know the truth? Thanks much for your time!
++additional details
I've been here Since August 2008 and will leave (to finish my final year of school in the US) in May 2009 at the end of the academic year. I plan on moving here in one year, once I've graduated. I'm worried that I have to apply for PR right now while I'm still a student in Canada, other wise the one year of study= PR card thing won't work out...? But I don't actually know...
