Hi Everyone,

My sister is looking for study in Canada. She did her Bachelors in Computer science. I can see that in all colleges, there is 1 year post graduate programs and 2 years Diploma. We want 2 years program so she can get 3 years work permit. My question is if she goes with 2 years Diploma, will it give her issue getting student visa? or if she goes with 1 years post graduate program, she can apply for another 1 year post graduate program in other course. Is it possible and doable ? Please give your suggestions. Thank you.

I was talking to a lawyer and he said that it is unethical to advise clients to go for 1 year study because PR is almost impossible in CEC because you have to have job on 1st day after studies is over. Even 1 day without job will give you less than 1 year experience making you ineligible for CEC.

Some try to get 1 more year study after, but that is only applicable to something like foundation courses where it is truly a continuation of studies.
