Hi, Everyone, I am an 1-year PGWP holder and want to apply CEC.

My PGWP issued at July 1st, 2012, and I got my job under my off-campus work permit, that means, when the date I got my PGWG, I already working full-time.

Now comes to May, 2013, I've worked for my employer for 10 months, and I works 50 hours per week, My PGWP will expired at JULY.1st this year.

My question is, can I submit my CEC application before JULY. 1st ?

if no, except applying for a LMO, how can I keep working after my PGWP expired?

Please provide mroe details re your job.

Per CIC, "Skilled Canadian work experience gained through the PGWPP helps graduates qualify for permanent residence in Canada through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)."

12 months of full time work experience is the requirement so 10 months is not enough.

How long was the duration of your studies? Did you get 1 year PGWP because that was all you could get or does it perhaps need renewal? If you did a typical undergrad degree you should be eligible for 3 years of PGWP.

Hi Ken, I am sorry to say that you have very little chance that a VO would consider your application is eligible...given the 10months only work experience.

Re your another concern about the possible means to stay and work after the PGWP but without LMO...sorry its still negative...you wouldnt be qualified for a closed type WP (need LMO) nor for a BOWP...

Well, That means I have no choice but apply for my LMO right now.

Anyone has an idea that how long it takes for a LMO to be approved(Not the process time for my new WP, but the LMO itself) ?

Depends on employer and job type. If your employer qualifies for Accelerated LMO then within 10 days. If not it could take about 8-10 weeks.

Some conditions for A-LMO:

To be eligible to participate in the A-LMO Initiative, employers must:

have been issued at least 1 positive LMO in the previous 2 years;
have a clean record of compliance with the Program within the last 2 years;
not have been the subject of an investigation, infraction or a serious complaint; and
not have any unresolved violations or contraventions under provincial laws governing employment and recruitment.

Thanks for your reply, so after my WP expired, if the LMO still in process, can I keep working (implied status) ?

If you submit an application to renew your work permit before your old work permit expires - then you can keep working on implied status.

Ken scylla is right and if the LMO (by HRSDC) is still in process when you send your WP renewal (by CIC) you can provide the CIC your LMO case/file# as a ref
