They didn't ask me anything when I landed. If you look at all the landing testimonials, not one single person has recounted any officer asking them any questions besides the quarantine plan.

Glad to hear that. Did you have to get a PCR test to come back to the UAE?

If you're unable to travel because of the lockdowns, I wouldn't worry about it at all. They gave you and your wife a PPR and you have a very valid reason that you can't make it. Just wait it out and wait for them to reply. Your ppr isn't in jeopardy.

Are you moving permanently or staying temporarily? If temp, how long do you see yourself staying?

I posted previously about the same thing. Looks like soft-landings are explicitly being forbidden. Those who landed probably won't have the answers yet since they've been let through without hassles (nobody has experienced any issues in the last month). The risk is that will change soon.

Hello All, Does it matter if the City of Destination (as stated in the COPR) is different from where you plan to land? I initially planned to land in Vancouver and stated it as such, but with COVID times, decided that Toronto is better suited as I have a stronger support structure of friends there.

I haven't come across any. But some people have bought up a point about whether this can backfire when you make the next trip to Canada and are questioned about why you left for such a long period. No way to know though.

Agreed. And since the situation is fluid, CBSA might update instructions for the screening of passengers at port of exit since its easier to refuse people then versus when they are finally at the Canadian border. So in the coming weeks, those flying might be required to submit additional proof...
