OWP returned from Mississauga Office - please help

Hi Nshilu, It's been a while since I've read these forums and kept up to date on the details and technicalities of maintaining legal status in Canada, so take my advice with a grain of salt. But from our experience, we did not need to apply for a restoration of status. Although they had...

Thanks, congrats on your CoPR also! We were also surprised that it would be several months to get the PR card. I recall someone in another thread saying that it would take ~7 months or something though, so glad that it didn't end up taking that long.

Update - my wife got her PR card in the mail late last week. So it took ~4.5 months from the time we mailed her photo, etc. to the Ottawa office. Glad to hear/read others got their CoPR over the last few pages. It was quite a stressful wait for early 2020 applicants.

We sent ours to the Ottawa office in late February also and still haven't received the card. I recall someone in another thread saying that they typically take several months to send this out (not sure why).

OWP returned from Mississauga Office - please help

Yep, unfortunately the timer did reset to zero once it was sent back to us. I remember we sent it back to the Edmonton office on Oct. 8th and the application was approved on Feb. 15th (5 days before my wife got CoPR... lol).

Application Returned - What to do?

Regarding your second/third question, we had our OWP returned to us back in September due to insufficient fees paid and we just resubmitted the exact same form (and same bar codes), just with a new receipt. I imagine the same applies for sponsorship forms. Maybe this is way outside the scope of...

I asked this question in the February inland thread last week, and someone mentioned 6-7 months or something (due to covid related delays). I hope it doesn't take that long, but either way, you have your CoPR letter/email which serves as proof that you're a permanent resident and is good for a year.

Oh, wow. I had no idea it was that long. Wife sent hers to the Ottawa office.

    SIN number

Thanks. We took our chances and walked into a Service Canada today (no appointment). They got my wife her SIN number right then and there.

    February 2020 Inland Sponsorship

Question for those of you who have received CoPR. Did you already mail the CoPR letter + photo to the IRCC? If so, how long did it take for them to send you your PR card in the mail? Thanks.

    SIN number

Thanks. That's not too bad (I was expecting the 20 or so business days that they mention on the site).

    SIN number

My main concern with applying online (or by mail) is having to wait several days or weeks for them to issue a SIN, versus doing it in person. Do you remember how long it took for them to send you your SIN in the mail? Though it's good news if you can start working without the actual SIN number...

    SIN number

Has anyone tried to apply for their SIN recently by going to a Service Canada without booking an appointment beforehand? It's not clear from the Service Canada website whether you can't go there for a walk-in service, or whether they would just prefer that you not.

That is a rough experience at the border. I thought that the OWP application would be proof of your implied status. I guess it's luck of the draw in terms of what CBSA officer you get. I totally hear you and it's funny because I said the same thing to my wife about what they expect in terms of...

We went through something similar; they wanted additional proof of cohabitation forms, which we submitted on January 4th. By Feb. 3rd there was still no update on GCKey, so my wife called the IRCC to ask if they received the forms she uploaded. The gentleman checked her file and said yes and...

My wife just received CoPR this morning, wohoo! (we are March 4th applicants). The approval and document number etc, shows on GCKey, however she hasn't received an email yet. On GCKey, there is a letter titled "Other" under messages, however when we click to open it, it says that the page...

Just saw this post. If you applied in June, I think you should be getting your OWP approved sometime around now (going by the spreadsheets), assuming that there are no issues with your application and they don't return it. It looks like June applicants are just getting theirs. The IRCC had...

I noticed today that my wife (PA)'s status on ECAS was updated to "decision made". Does this mean that a CoPR letter is imminent, or does the decision made status stem from the AIP that we just received (yesterday)?

OHIP - when can my spouse apply?

Thank you PB and Conaider, the tips are greatly appreciated. I hadn't considered the potential issues with going to a Service Ontario that wasn't full service, so knowing this should definitely save time. Great news that the AIP letter in the email can be used. I was concerned about having to...
