No update, applied last April 14. Abu dhabi VO is so messed up. I will probably get a diploma before getting a study permit. My online study will start next week.

Another inconsistency from IRCC, they keep saying 2stage process is for Fall2020 only.

Do you think they’re checking class start date of each applicant? Maybe they will issue decision to those student who started their online class. Those deferring will be dealt later on. Could this be the reason were not seeing more decision recently?

She’s a news reporter not from IRCC to receive your webform. She sounds like checking wether the issues international student facing is news worthy. So i encourage you to speak up and reach out to her.

I suggest you talk to your school admin to take your seat back. You can see on other threads some applicant with AIP and deferred got 2nd-stage refusal. The risk is high for deferring. Your webform seems to triggered then to issue your processed AIP.

If this figure is true, it will not be trouble for Canada to let this 30% to 20% fall student be exempted to travel restriction. We know they are processing tourist visa now. Im sure students will be allowed to come first before tourist.

IRCC is doing this to discourage deferring and they don't want to deal with the same applicants for winter intake. We all know that they are operating with limited capacity and they could have use their resources to prioritize fall intake only. No one knows how many student deferring from fall...

The 2-stage process is specifically for fall intake. I haven't seen any announcement that the same process applies to winter intake. I got a hunch that in the next few days applicants with complete application will receive full approval or refusal. Make sense to deal with complete application...
