Can you believe it? Canadian citizens fell by 6,000.

Yeah I think its well known that Canada's birth rate is below replacement and the death rate will only accelerate due to excess deaths (from covid-19) + older people dying naturally (they are becoming an even higher percentage of the population). Add citizenship bottlenecks and viola!

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

I am not but you should feel free. Some light at the end of the tunnel. It says their priority is clearing the older paper file backlog while processing a small number of e-applications. Eventually the will finish the entire paper backlog and everything will be e-application (which should only...

    Citizenship - Urgent Processing

you should be able to contact your MP if the application is pending more than 4 years. That is a very strange non-routine application. I believe you can even open a lawsuit to IRCC to finalize the status (either rejected or accepted as citizen).

CBC news article on Citizenship Tests & in-person Ceremonies

I had tried that, they said no dice with tests halted. I even wrote to my MP and submitted proof. This was back in August/September so maybe now there is an online test pilot since some people on Facebook have said so. Unfortunately I lost that job opportunity, offer expired so its now too late...
