That value included the courier fee. Looks like they managed to get my info back to IRCC and eventually I’ll get my stuff back via fedex so all good.

Ended up being roughly $50USD. Most of that fee is for courier service returning my documents.

I got an email from vfsglobal about it. It certainly seemed legitimate. https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ Was a little puzzled. If it turns out to be a scam I’ll dispute the charge via my card issuer.

Did anyone else get a bit surprised by the ask from the local visa processing office requesting an additional processing fee? In my case NY Visa Processing required a consent form, and addl fees to continue processing my app.

The letter I got was from New York. Guessing it’s from there.

Yikes. Sent our paperwork out via USPS Priority Mail May 16, only arrived in Sydney today. Just...wow.

Wish I could say that I Wish my life was that simple again (no kids and a student!). I'm a bit beyond that age group so we've got a more complicated journey but its all good. I think it will be workable, wanted to see if anyone had that experience already. I might just be in less of a hurry...

Totally understand.. from Canada to US was almost exactly 9 months when we went that direction.

Wife put our package in the mail Saturday, will see how long it takes to get there! Its crazy that 12 months is the turnaround time from the US but will see what the reality is.
