SIN expiring - what happens to EI payments?

Thanks for your response. I was told that after completing my application for the SOWP, I'd be on maintained status. My partner will get an ITA on Friday for the Young Professionals stream (judging by the pools for our country), and then will upload the documents. Our Working Holiday process...

SIN expiring - what happens to EI payments?

Hello, any help would be really appreciated. My partner and I are in Canada on IEC working holidays. Our permits expire on the 14th of April this year. My partner has applied for a new permit and I will be applying for a SOWP. My question is regarding EI. I am currently on EI. When my current...

ECA For Online Masters Degree (MSc)

I wonder if anyone can shed any light. My partner did Level 4, 5, 6, 7 with OTHM/LSIB WES evaluated it as 6 years altogether?? 3 years undergrad + 2 years undergrad + 1 year postgrad. Is this a mistake? It must be? But they had all the information in front of them. Did this happen to any one else?

ECA For Online Masters Degree (MSc)

Hi there. Why not consider a postgraduate diploma from OTHM or other? This will count for 1 year of studies. I'm not sure what they have that pertains to you, but you could look through their courses. You will then get points for 2 qualifications.

Wes euivalency for OTHM Level 7

Hi guys. I stand to be corrected but I think you will get it assessed as a 1 year diploma. And can then get points for that. My partner has done this too, and we are about to send his off to WES (hence I am on this forum). If you guys give me your emails I will follow up with you to tell you his...

WES ECA - my degree isn’t comparable to a complete Canadian degree

It did, but because of my grades, they told me I didn't need to do the foundation year. I think the fact that it is a 3-year honours degree is throwing them off, because that isn't how its done in countries other than the UK. Still, I thought they knew all about this. I mean, they deal with UK...

WES ECA - my degree isn’t comparable to a complete Canadian degree

If my UK degree is Honors, I thought Canada would equate it to 4 years... I will try another ECA body. Thank you so much.

WES ECA - my degree isn’t comparable to a complete Canadian degree

It says: "Canadian Equivalency: Three years of undergraduate study. Remarks: the credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential."

WES ECA - my degree isn’t comparable to a complete Canadian degree

Hi Scylla and thanks for your response. It’s the University of Greenwich. The WES report states that it is a recognised institution. That’s why this is so strange to me :(

    WES ECA - not comparable

Hi all. Wondering who can help me. WES states that my 3 year degree through a UK university (BSc Hons Nutrition and Dietetics) is not comparable to a complete Canadian degree. (What???) Can someone explain this please? How can it be? Did anyone get this result and have better luck through ICAS...

ECA For Online Masters Degree (MSc)

Hi Sara, yes, these forums are super helpful. For LSIB, my partner paid 990 pounds for level 7, and then the MBA TOP UP is around the price you have stated. We won't be going this route, though, because it will take 1 year, in which time we will both lose points for our age (10 points combined)...

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

This makes more sense, but the immigration lawyer told us to first wait for ITA and then submit the rehab application, which confused me but I didn’t question it since it came from a lawyer. But I think we will do it as you stated. Thank you for all your help, it’s so appreciated :)

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

Thanks, I am aware of this, and so I’m concerned with what happens with the PR application if they give you 60 days to submit all documents after the ITA, when we have to wait possibly longer for the rehab approval document.

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

If you know - say we get an ITA, and we then send in the rehab application, how are we to enter Canada within the 60 day period that is required, if we have to wait for an answer from the officers that could take up to a year?

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

Thank you! No, we are both South African/Greek (duel citizens). We can only hope that it won't take as long as a year! We're living in Greece now and we have to submit the application to Italy, hopefully by then their load is not too huge.

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

Thank you for this! Its good to hear that the possibility is high to get approved. Thankfully there was no probation, so the 5 year mark will be in May 2021. Any idea on how long they take to process it?

    Criminal Inadmissibility - Success Stories

Hi everyone My partner has a criminal record from a very dark time in his life - theft of the equivalent of CAD127. We've spoken to an immigration lawyer and we will be applying for rehabilitation to hopefully get approved to immigrate to Canada. This post is about hearing others' success...
