What is the difference between original entry date and date of last time entered in Canada?

Thank you very much for the reply. I am surprised they care about her first ever entry -- it was like 3 years ago on an eTA.

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

Thanks Gabriel. Do you know how she should answer this request from IRCC? What's the original entry date...?

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

Maybe this is only happening to 'inland' applications but today we received an email that they have set up an online 'PR Confirmation Portal' in lieu of an in person interview. Once they set this portal up for us, we will apparently soon have documents officially confirming permanent residence...

What is the difference between original entry date and date of last time entered in Canada?

My wife's application for PR began as outland but in the interim she managed to get a tourist visa to Canada for 6 months. She arrived a few months ago in September. Is the answer that date in September to both questions? The 2nd question is obvious but 'original entry date' is unclear? Is that...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

My wife did her medical weeks ago but when I check her status online it doesn't say it was "passed". Just this: -Medical results have been received. Should I be concerned? Is there any chance they didn't get everything (physician exam, lab work, chest x-ray which were all separate things)...

    IRCC Webform Frustration

Has anyone else had to wait weeks for a reply via webform only to have it rejected because birthdates don't match?? The IRCC webform does not even have a proper option for an applicant to inquire about his/her permanent residence. If you select 'applied by mail', there is no "family class"...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

My application was received the first week or two of March. I don't remember the exact date. I don't update the spreadsheet anymore because it always gets corrupted or deleted a few weeks later. I called IRCC and they told me to wait until Service Canada centers open again (like that will...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

I got the biometrics request today too, same as sherinv basically. The letter says we have to go to a Service Canada center to do biometrics. But they're all closed in Alberta! Then on the CIC website it says: " Biometrics collection services are currently available only for permanent residence...

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

How do you guys know when your application was received? Is someone in their call centre telling you, or you're referring to the delivery date from your package tracking (i.e. UPS #)?

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

Yep, she will fedex it to USA, then hopefully they'll fedex it back to her home country even though at the time of application she resided in the US. She applied June 20.

    No. Just the online application.

    MARCH 2020 *Outland* Spousal Sponsorship

She never did any biometrics, but has done them previously for a professional license (i.e. doctor). Surprised they never requested it but am very glad because they are/were open in the US, but won't be in her home country for a while.

Still no progress here with an AOR. But after 32 days, our TRV was seemingly approved. I made a post in a TRV thread elsewhere...

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

I have some good news. My wife's TRV was seemingly approved. The letter says "a decision has been made" and they are asking her to mail her passport to a Canadian consulate in the US. As background, we applied for permanent residency in March but nothing has moved on that front. So, it seems...

I would also pay for expedited processing, but people would absolutely freak out at this suggestion. Two-tier immigration process, blah blah.

It can't hurt to show you have a flight booked. Very few people have reported getting a decision on TRVs though. I've been waiting 25 days and absolutely no word on anything.

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

Right, Ksavier. Others' excuses are all: - covid - IRCC is already slow - other governments' IRCCs are slow - government is slow in other areas too like health care But that's no excuse. Just because you expect bad service doesn't mean you should accept it. All of us expect bad service from...

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

Restaurants and other workers like grocery store cashiers have been faced with a decision: go to work and risk infection to earn money. They've virtually all chosen to take the risk. IRCC workers: go to work and risk infection (even though in Sydney that risk is lower than being struck by...

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

IRCC is failing us, and hiding behind covid is just an easy excuse. If anything, all of this goes to show the government should be reducing their dependency on (overpaid) manpower and doing more with automation. But that will never happen because IRCC and the public service commission are more...

Exactly. They just use that magic word and suddenly it excuses them for anything. Working at IRCC is one of the safest jobs out there right now. "Public servants", pfft.
