    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

If it says "You've been scheduled to take citizenship test online between October 3, 2023 and October 23, 2023. Information and instructions will be sent to you," does it mean that I get to choose the date or do they choose the date will let me know of the date? Also, as a note, they sent my AOR...

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

Yeah, my fingerprinting agency said something similar. they said if it takes longer than 20 days, first contact rcmp then the ircc. from the application google sheet, it seems mostly it takes 20 days. so it might be good idea to contact after about 20±5 days.

were you instructed to submit the receipt? I was also asked to submit fingerprints but neither IRCC nor the fingerprinting agency asked for that. so I assume no, we don't have to submit anything, but not sure.

No fingerprint email, what to do?

Today my application was updated, and they apparently sent an email 2 days ago about fingerprint submission but I didn't receive any email. It is not in junk either. Should I try to call them or wait more?

Once you login to the tracker, at the top it shows the last update date, and mine went from sep 14 to sep 16, also at the bottom of the page beside the Application Filed title, it shows a New Update badge, but the date thing is easier to identify.

Coming back to Canada after Citizenship

I've heard this happen before. This is probably because you have a FOSS/GCMS enforcement flag. I believe this happens because we are refugees. They put an enforcement flag, and they generally amend it to deactivate it. Note that it can't be removed, it will always stay there, but that flag can...

According to this tracker/sheet, it takes about 31 days to get your AOR, but that's the average. So, it may take a little longer, also note that there are people on that sheet that are still waiting for AOR, so it's probably normal.

    July 2023 - Citizenship Applications

I came here to ask the same question. Got my AOR on aug 30 through email but it doesn't show up on the citizenship application page or can't find my application on ECAS. I don't know why it's taking this long to show up, isn't it automated?

In-canada refugee claimant time for citizenship?

Okay I found a definitive answer. On IRCC's webpage, it is said that a refugee claimant isn't a temporary resident. therefore, the days you spent in Canada while waiting for NOD won't count for citizenship. See here: Refugee claimants who have authorization to work or study while waiting for a...
