    I also applied and mailed from the US but it was in Aug 2021. The Afghanistan issue slows down a lot of the applications around that timeframe. They probably have put more workforces by now. Let's see.

    Urgent Passport After Oath

    Generally you don't need a passport to book most of the airline tickets, as long as you provide your full name. However, at check-in then you must have a passport/visa so airline can verify if you are eligible to enter the destination country.

    I think you can send a request to update the application to Urgent type, as health care is one of the eligible reasons for urgent processing. Apply for a Canadian citizenship certificate: Urgent processing - Canada.ca

    My wife failed the Canadian citizenship test in April 2018 and since then we are waiting for a spot to retake the exam!

    April 2019 applicant here. Failed test in Nov 2019. Retest invite sent in Mar 2020 and then everything was cancelled. Online retest invite came in May 2021 but told them I am outside of Canada. Then another online retest invite came in Sep 2021 with option to take it outside of Canada. Hope...
