Hi, just an update from me. I was contacted by IRCC last week for a pre-registration meeting this week, where they checked my ID, verified address etc, and then I had the oath ceremony today. So finally done! Both meetings were done over Zoom of course. Niagara Falls office for me.

Hi, thank you, but I haven't actually completed the oath ceremony yet, or received an actual invite. Only an email asking me to confirm that I'm ok with a virtual ceremony. It's been quiet since. I applied in April 2019, had the test in Nov and was DM shortly after.

Given that application processing slowed down dramatically in March, this may feel more dramatic than it is. They may simply have been checking on travel records (if there's many it can take longer) or similar and then things stopped up for a while. You could fill out the form on their web page...

That is quite the assumption. Citizenship affects a persons rights in the country, e.g. in terms being able to vote or political party membership.

The AOR does not start the clock. The clock starts once the application is received at the mail office. I applied in April 2019, and when calling in January 2020 I was told to wait until April at which point they could look into the matter (I'm waiting for the oath at this point). My AOR was...

The Hamilton office does seem to have quite a backlog. Not sure why that is the case of course, nor do I see why they should be so much more busy than some other offices like Scarborough.

You would still need to comply with the residency requirement for the last 5 years until the date you actually receive your citizenship.

Please update on the progress. I did my test in Hamilton as well, in November last year. It's been saying decision made for half a year now, and I've yet to hear anything else.

I'm in the same situation as you. I passed the test in November 2019, but other than a status update to Decision Made last year, I have not heard anything.
