    Hamilton citizenship applications 2019

Hi, my application was through the Hamilton office, and I have now completed the process, including a virtual oath ceremony. The oath ceremony was handled by the Niagara office though, so either they are handling part of the load, or taking over Hamilton's oaths. But in either case, they are...

    April 2019 applications

Hi, sorry the slow response. Hopefully you've completed your process by now, but for reference here's my timeline: I got an email mid August asking if I would be willing to attend a virtual oath ceremony, to which I replied positively of course. I was then asked to attend a pre-registration...

    April 2019 applications

Hi, just an update from me. I was contacted by IRCC last week for a pre-registration meeting this week, where they checked my ID, verified address etc, and then I had the oath ceremony today. So finally done! Both meetings were done over Zoom of course. Niagara Falls office for me.

    April 2019 applications

Hi, thank you, but I haven't actually completed the oath ceremony yet, or received an actual invite. Only an email asking me to confirm that I'm ok with a virtual ceremony. It's been quiet since. I applied in April 2019, had the test in Nov and was DM shortly after.

    April 2019 applications

Hi KAZ123, I thought I'd ask you the same question as I did Vkaushik82. Did you first receive an email asking you are willing to do a virtual oath ceremony, before you received the actual invite? If so, I'm curious as to how long it was between the initial email and the actual invite. It seems...

    April 2019 applications

Hi Vkaushik82, did you initially get an email asking you are willing to do a virtual oath ceremony, before you got the actual invite? I received such an email, which I of course responded positively to, but I have not heard anything beyond that.

    June 2019 citizenship applicants

It appears the ceremony is primarily for frontline workers during the COVID-19 crisis. You can attend as a spectator though: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/celebration-of-citizenship-registration-110168567150?aff=erelexpmlt

    June 2019 citizenship applicants

Given that application processing slowed down dramatically in March, this may feel more dramatic than it is. They may simply have been checking on travel records (if there's many it can take longer) or similar and then things stopped up for a while. You could fill out the form on their web page...

Least priority for Citizenship office is issuing AOR

That is quite the assumption. Citizenship affects a persons rights in the country, e.g. in terms being able to vote or political party membership.

Least priority for Citizenship office is issuing AOR

The AOR does not start the clock. The clock starts once the application is received at the mail office. I applied in April 2019, and when calling in January 2020 I was told to wait until April at which point they could look into the matter (I'm waiting for the oath at this point). My AOR was...

The Hamilton office does seem to have quite a backlog. Not sure why that is the case of course, nor do I see why they should be so much more busy than some other offices like Scarborough.

    Oath Ceremony- COVID-19

You would still need to comply with the residency requirement for the last 5 years until the date you actually receive your citizenship.

    April 2019 applications

Please update on the progress. I did my test in Hamilton as well, in November last year. It's been saying decision made for half a year now, and I've yet to hear anything else.

I'm in the same situation as you. I passed the test in November 2019, but other than a status update to Decision Made last year, I have not heard anything.

Congratulations! I know the oaths are cancelled until further notice, but for future reference. The web site does not mention the invite for the oath? Did you receive this by email, but no update in ECAS?
