Just anecdotally, every time I’ve gotten my visa stamp in Mexico City (I’m a Mexican citizen), I’ve met Chinese and Indian nationals getting their stamps. If you're sent to secondary because of an expired visa, those Officers damn well sure know about it. It's not common, but not extremely rare either.- nazimo0
