I would advise that they do, yes....we have lived in several countries other than our home country - and have been asked to submit police clearances (done for all) for each country, including our home country....even for countries where we only lived for 6 months or more...

..you need to get police clearances from your country's police....and also any other country in which you may have lived for more than 6 months. Once you have the Police clearance certificates, you then submit them to CIC....

We are in a similar position - our application was received 27 September 2018.....and everything has slowed down with Covid...very little feedback online, and the agents, though friendly, just keep saying Covid, Covid when I call CIC to enquire...our medicals EXPIRED end July 2020....and still...
