Can someone answer how long it takes to get a work permit support letter after submitting the application online? The standard timeline seems to be around one month. Has it been the case recently? Also, has anyone successfully expedited their work permit support letter?

After many web form requests and panic, my return tracker was updated with an origin scan minutes ago (1900 hrs Ottawa time). I hope things go smooth from here. Thank you everyone for the support and good luck to you all. I really appreciate how CIC is helping people out even in this pandemic.

@AlphaBhangu Passport request on March 11th, Final Decision on March 23rd. I had requested them to expedite the process due to exceptional situation using the web form. They are working in reduced capacity I think. They were quick to return passports up until the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

@AlphaBhangu I don’t think they are closed. I had sent my passport for TRV visa stamping (from within Canada) and they received it on March 13th. My visa was stamped on March 23rd. I am still waiting for the return of my passport.
