Crossing the border as a Permanent Resident

I was just wondering how the border crossings are when you have a PR card. Do you still get questioned as aggressively? I'm a US citizen with a Canadian PR, and last time I crossed into the US (Windsor/Detroit), the customs person gave me a hard time -- why are you in Canada? etc etc. The...

I STILL don't have my PR Card

Well, I called them today. They said it is beyond the usual time, the records didn't show it being mailed, and asked me to confirm my address, phone number, etc. The woman said that she would follow up on it, and if I hadn't received it by May 4, to call them again. Wouldn't you know it, the...

I STILL don't have my PR Card

I landed on February 16 of this year, and still don't have my PR Card. Should I be worried? Would it do any good to call the Immigration hotline?

When can I apply for a SIN card?

I just did my landing today, and from what I've read, it will take up to 45 days to receive my PR card. Do I need to wait until I get the PR card to apply for a SIN?

    Tim Hortons

I had a chicken wrap from Tim Horton's at the airport in Toronto, and got terrible diarrhea from it. I'm not gonna eat there again, at least not at the airport ;)

Must you be accompanied by your sponsor upon landing?

I was just wondering if my sponsor must be present when I do my landing. I feel so nervous about the landing process.....it's the last hurdle in a very long journey.

    "Flagpoling" without auto

Ya, I see there is a shuttle bus operating between Detroit and Windsor, so maybe I could do that. I was just wondering if perhaps anyone had ever been through this border crossing, and if there was somewhere to turn around, so my husband wouldn't need to enter the US, since he has no passport...

    "Flagpoling" without auto

I am currently in Canada, recently received my PR visa, and just need to "land". My husband doesn't have a passport, so him driving me across the border so I can return to land, is out of the question. Is it maybe possible for him to drive me to the border, and I cross to the US side and...
