Crossing into Canada by Land with Newborn (No Passport or Birth Certificate Yet)

Thanks so much @armoured , especially for pointing out the OB/GYN. We’ve actually started reaching out - got an appointment with a new family doctor by August 10, and then we’ll try to get a female OB/GYN for my wife after that. I hope these go well. We’ve been thinking a lot about what makes...

Crossing into Canada by Land with Newborn (No Passport or Birth Certificate Yet)

Hi @canuck78, thanks for your thoughtful response and for raising those important points. I was referring to New York Medicaid, not MIChild. When our first child was born in NY, she qualified for Medicaid independently based on her U.S. citizenship and our income at the time, even though my...

    B4 and B4A problem

B4A is specifically for “Goods to Follow” and should be submitted at the port of entry when you first arrive, even on a soft or permanent move. Your moving company is correct. They legally need the processed B4A to deliver your shipment duty-free AFAIK. By the way, where was your car...

Moving to US from Canada, looking to rent house (furnished) for a couple of years

It might be tough to find someone in the exact situation for a swap like this. I’d recommend also listing your home on Kijiji, Marketplace, and other platforms. For anyone looking to rent in Burlington or the Buffalo area, Marketplace is a good starting point. Zillow tends to inflate rental prices.

Questions about Inland Sponsorship of Dependent Child Alone

My wife and I are Canadian Permanent Residents since 2023. We are moving to Canada soon and both of us are RO compliant (three years left). Our daughter was born in the U.S. after we became PRs. We are preparing her inland permanent residence sponsorship application as soon within the first...

Crossing into Canada by Land with Newborn (No Passport or Birth Certificate Yet)

Yes, we are moving end of this month. The last three months we have visited ON by land almost every other week. Only once we were sent to the Secondary where the Immigration Officer confirmed that we are still compliant with RO (only three years left). I 100% agree with you. Fortunately, I have...

Travel Health Insurance for US-Born Toddler Visiting Ontario (PR in Progress)

Thanks @canuck78 and @lithosh007. Now that I know either AOR or AIP letter is sufficient to apply for my daughter's OHIP, it gives me a little relief. When I applied for Outland Express Entry, it took over 26 months. I hope my daughter's (Inland) sponsorship Eligibility passes much quickly...

Travel Health Insurance for US-Born Toddler Visiting Ontario (PR in Progress)

Hi @canuck78 thanks for confirming this. I recently contacted Service Ontario and I was informed the same that OHIP can start right away provided that we are already PR, can proof Ontario residency (perhaps thru a Utility bill), and we will be staying the next five of six months at least. They...

Travel Health Insurance for US-Born Toddler Visiting Ontario (PR in Progress)

Hi @CanGoldDigger I was replying to your first post when you posted the second reply. Thanks for the information on OHIP. Please let me know if my understanding of the OHIP min qualifications is correct: The issue is none of us lived in Canada yet after my wife and my soft-landing; we will live...

Travel Health Insurance for US-Born Toddler Visiting Ontario (PR in Progress)

Hi @CanGoldDigger thanks for chiming in. My wife and I are already PR in Canada. Our child was born in USA after we became PR in Canada. So she is a US citizen. We haven't applied for her PR yet but will do in the next 1-2 months. In Ontario, doesn't want need to be a PR to be eligible for OHIP...

Travel Health Insurance for US-Born Toddler Visiting Ontario (PR in Progress)

Hi everyone, We’re moving to Ontario this August and will be living near the US–Canada border. My spouse and I are Canadian PRs, and our 2-year-old daughter is a US citizen. I’ll be sponsoring her PR soon, but until it’s approved (could take 8–12 months), she’ll be a visitor and not eligible...

Crossing into Canada by Land with Newborn (No Passport or Birth Certificate Yet)

Thanks. Sure, I will keep posted. I am reading mixed experiences online, especially Canadian and U.S. citizens with U.S. newborn do not appear to have problem with only hospital records, but most people say it really depends on the CBSA agent.

Crossing into Canada by Land with Newborn (No Passport or Birth Certificate Yet)

Hi everyone, My wife and I are Canadian Permanent Residents who recently moved back to Canada from the U.S. We’re currently in the U.S. in non-immigrant visas, and our baby is due very soon. We've decided to give birth here in the U.S., but we plan to return to Canada by land after hospital...
