I too got an email today from CIC agent asking for current residential (physical) address and since when I am living there. Not sure what this means. I am FSW residing in the US.

Will general draws happen after this? Are we back to normal or will it revert back to CEC and PNP draws?

I wouldn't recommend this at all - significantly expensive option. Completing a Masters program in your home country with three years of experience, and maxing out IELTS will put you at 481 CRS score if you are below 30 years old. Signs point towards FSW draws happening soon and early data in...

Ray of Hope - 150th Draw - CEC

FSW candidate here - I don’t think general draw is going to happen. It seems as though the states are picking NOC codes that are in demand or will have higher employability. If general draws were to happen, CRS score cut off will not be 471 (people with these scores would have been invited any...

They already are inviting people from other countries - for example the applicant who got PNP from outside of the country. So per your rationale, they are already "importing" Covid from abroad. In my opinion (which obviously does not matter whatsoever), they can wait out the peak (which I think...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Everyone, Canada included, is trying to open borders safely, as soon as possible. Since steps are being taken to reopen the borders, FSW draws will resume soon. How soon? Once travel restrictions ease up and healthcare professionals are not overwhelmed. I am guessing August.

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Again, the minority (Top US Business school graduates) and the majority (the applicants you are talking about) come through the FSW stream. If IRCC opens the doors and solicits the former, it cannot selectively ignore the latter. Therefore, FSW (or general draws) will resume soon.

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Agreed. Extrapolating that line of thought, if IRCC is reaching out to these programs to apply for express entry, it is highly unlikely that they will block out FSW completely - it is a temporary pause until travel restrictions and healthcare strain eases up. IRCC, just like you and me, are...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

False - 30 people from my class alone got management consulting jobs (with 5 firms) across Canada. All these individuals are considered immigrants. Additionally, I personally know 5 people who took inter-firm transfers because they did not get their visas this year. Also, not sure where you are...
