I don't have any concrete answer to this, but if your VO is Ottawa then this might apply to you as well. Otherwise you call IRCC and ask about your AL status!

Cool, I've also seen one post on the FB that someone called the IRCC and the agent told him that now we should not worry about the AL and can carry the print out of the updated GC key to board the direct flight to Canada. Don't know whether airlines will allow boarding without AL or not...
