I applied for a new TRV as well recently after getting doubts about the extension. I have two applications in process now: extension and the TRV. Should I send a webform to cancel the extension application? Would it have any impact on my TRV? Thanks.

I had a 6 month TRV and stayed in Canada for 4 months. I applied for visitor extension record while I was in Canada. I left the country before expiry of my TRV. My visitor extension application is still in process. When it gets approved, can I enter Canada with only the visitor extension...

Yes, both are different things. If visa is valid, then they can re-enter Canada (without even showing the visitor extension record). If visitor extension record is valid but visa is expired, they may not be guaranteed re-entry into the country.

Was their visit visa still valid or did they re-enter Canada with only the visitor extension record document?
