Why will I be refused entry? I have legitimate reasons for being present for graduate lab work on campus. I need a support letter from the University, which is not as easy to get from universities.

Not everyone has a 1 year program. The 50% limit still applies to those whose programs are more than 1 year in length. That issue aside, what about the lab / co-op work at the graduate level? None of this can be done without entering.

2 classes are online. Other things are lab, grad research, thesis work ! Not entirely online. Still supposedly "non-essential". Deferring is not as easy for those going into very selective university-level graduate programs that have only one entry per year - the September entry.

No these measures are directed at those who've just submitted an application. Not for those with an approval & who are supposedly "exempt" can enter. And the fully online from home aspect applies only to programs of 1 year or less. What about programs of more than 1 year? The 50% rule still...

No information on that yet. We need more clarity & more information. Even university international student advisors say they don't yet know how the 50% will be calculated. It's going to be September already! I just wish all of them could sort of come together to give us some clarity :(

My situation is equally painful, if not more. I have a full approval before March 18th, and still am unable to travel / enter for want of an "essential" reason. I am starting a research-intensive graduate program :(

Thank you!!! I guess I'm the only one confused now, again :( What about those with an already approved visa before March 18th? When can those people enter? Are those people with a full approval also subject to the same regulations as those who've just applied & waiting for the AIP? Oh god :(
