You can fill webform and tell CIC about this; there is no problem to tell them before or after starting processing.

I am from Egypt too, and the answer is No. You will not recieve any emails telling you whether your application reached cairo canada office. However, you can know more information about the status of your application by linking your application online. You, also, can contact with VFS tommorow...
