    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

First off congrats ddobro2 :D Well we're a very small portion of the applications going through and I'd venture to guess that many of us were rather obsessive about getting our applications juuust right. People who haven't taken the time to read other people's stories and understand just how...

I dunno if you got a different letter than the one I did from Detroit or not but mine said that my visa could only be issued at the Detroit office. There was a URL in the e-mail they sent with instructions on how to send things to Detroit.

Have you already changed your drivers license from Michigan to Ontario? If so how did it go? Just curious because it's going to be something I have to do soon and I'm not sure what to expect.

Not such a big deal to renew your US passport from Canada http://travel.state.gov/passport/renew/renew_833.html :) Edited to add: And I'm a slacker because I didn't notice that your concern was already addressed.

Did anyone else have a visitor record stapled into their passports when they had to send it in after PPR? I'm trying to decide if I'm supposed to just leave it in there or if I should take it out before I send it.

No my ecas still says In Process and looks exactly the same as it did when it changed in December. I had noticed on the spreadsheet that quite a few people lately that were getting their PPR about a month after they were in process and I was hoping I'd be one of those as well and it seems I've...

I just got my PPR.. I am shaking.. lol I know I haven't been particularly active in this thread but I thought I'd at least share that I got my PPR now. My ecas had changed to in process on December 1st and I was hoping that it would be here soon but I wasn't holding my breath. So excited...

That's how mine was as well back in late August. I figured since it was signed Buffalo that it was AOR though.

Nope, sure didn't know that.. it's interesting because both my cat and dog are indoor only and I always thought it was a little silly that they would be exposed to rabies inside the house. Of course there's also the terrible chance that bats would decide to join us for an evening :o The...

The only vaccination that's required is the rabies vaccination so you should have some proof from your vet that your dog has an up to date rabies vaccination. I've crossed the border by car several times with my cat (same requirement) and once with my dog. Never once have they actually asked...

About to get married to my Canadian fiancee. What order to do things?

Hi, first congrats on your upcoming marriage! I can't answer all of your questions but I can try to answer some of them then maybe someone else will chime in who knows more than I do. 1. As rouvie said, no need to wait any period of time. In my case I started filling out forms before we were...

Yeah that's what mine says too. I was just logging on and seeing the application received link for a while without clicking on it then my husband said click on it and see what it says and low and behold the medical results received had been added.

Not PR yet, but already in Canada, anybody?

I've been in Canada since May when I finished school. I get bored sometimes not being able to work while my husband is gone for 10 hours a day or so during the week but there's always something to do even if it's not fun and exciting. Winter is going to be a bit worse but I'll deal with it...

My ecas has been updated to say medicals received but it kind of seems like nearly all the applicants from Buffalo have had the same update. Congrats to those who have gotten PPR and I'm thinking good thoughts for those of us who are still waiting. I did get a happy moment this weekend...

I think it means nothing. My address was returned too. It was there when I was first able to check it, then disappeared for a while, and now it has returned.

kourts - Sorry that CIC is being so difficult for you. Just thought I'd let you know that the e-mail I received from Buffalo after my husband was approved to sponsor me was the same e-mail that you received and only said the date that it was received in Mississauga.

Congrats to those of you who have gotten PPR! I'll try not to be too jealous ;) I was sent an e-mail from Buffalo on August 24th stating they were confirming my application was received on June 22, 2011. Is this AOR or something else? Anyway I'm assuming Buffalo has my application otherwise...
