@farooq.ind - Did they provide you any more details why it will take this long after processing OCI? yours was completed on 27th Oct. This makes us worry now. BLS is scary.

@mandesp: I had similar problem but my place of birth was same in both passports, spelling was different. I submitted affidavit saying both places are same just spelling different. If it is the same situation for you, then you need to get affidavit with explanation and clarifying two different...

@eas2lv reopening Visa services might have impact on processing OCI files that is currently under process already. Do you think the same or different opinion?

@fshaik - Did you just create a ticket on BLS site to change your OCI pickup method from Courier to in-person? or Did you call BLS guys? I know they do not refund single penny but just checking if you had paid for courier already and they refunded your money in your case. Please advise

yes, you cannot apply without surrender certificate, as it is one of the mandatory doc. Check the checklist while you wait. Also, make sure if you have spell different btw Canada and Indian passport then you need affidavit for each spell error. For instance, place of birth was spell diff way in...
