There is no expiry but if you are outside canada you should let ircc know you are outside they will revert back your status to temporary resident and once you are back you can update them and they will process it back with a fresh portal link.

Hi, I received portal confirmation from Virtual landings. Aor Feb 7 I got a second GU this morning and portal email in afternoon. Stay tight friends your turn is coming soon.

Its a portal glitch on weekends Saturday/sunday night.. It happens every weekend night. website goes to bad gateway and when you return it shows application/profile updated. Its a known glitch.
